In Open Ocean, your goal is to rebuild
the Reef and create the highest scoring combination of colorful creatures!
You will be competing with other players for cards as they are passed around the table. Each turn you will:
PICK a card from your current hand
PLAY the card you picked into your Reef
PASS the remaining cards clockwise to the next player
You score points by placing your cards in a matching and connecting grid pattern to build your Reef.
You will also have the opportunity to attract additional cards from the Ocean, a shared pool of cards in the center of the table.
With a little planning and strategy, you can shift the tides in your favor.
At the end of three rounds, everyone will total up the points in their Reef, and the player who earned the most points wins!
Thanks to the help of some amazing Kickstarter backers the rules for Open Ocean have been translated into several languages!
+ Deutsche - Eva-Maria K. & Sinan K.
+ Française - Leslie B.
+ Nederlands - Michiel S.
+ Português - Miguel C.
These three give Open Ocean their SEAL OF APPROVAL!
Open Ocean is a great debut game from Featherstone Games and well worth checking out! I love how my kids are learning how to strategically plan which cards to play so that they attract more fish from the ocean, maximizing their turns!

“Just wanted to drop a line to say this has been a huge hit with my 9-year-old! Just finished a work from home lunch time game, and she again whooped me. She is loving this game and loving beating up her old man.”
Joel W, MN
"This game is BRILLIANT!
It has an excellent solo variant and the art, theme, scoring and gameplay is so smooth and satisfying. We love Open Ocean so much, and my son is annoyingly good at it!."
